Abstract

This is a collection of portraits on paper. Most of this collection is portraits of specific artists and writers, but there are also some unidentified drawings and caricatures. The collection contains lithographs, intaglio prints (mostly engravings), and a few drawings. See folder descriptions for more details.

Abstract

This is a collection of miscellaneous scientific prints, including ornithological, botanical, and conchology prints. Most of this material was collected by Seymour Adelman. Scope and Contents Seymour Adelman was an enthusiastic collector with wide-ranging interests. His incredibly generous donations to the Library brought us important collections of A.E. Housman, Laurence Housman, Ralph Hodgson, Claud Lovat Fraser, and Thomas and Susan Eakins documents and ephemera, as well as a striking collection of boxiana. Abstract

This collection contains works created by or directly related to Seymour Adelman. In addition to being an avid collector, he was also an amateur illustrator and amateur print-maker.
